December News

Stacey Lynn Riemer is celebrating another double final. Her new contemporary BREAKING THE ICE (its first final), along with PLAYING FOR KEEPS, finaled in the Single Title category of Launching A Star.

Terry Spear received a request for full MS from Agent Bob Diforio for DEIDRE'S SECRET. This paranormal, romantic suspense young adult has been requested in full now twice by agents.

Stacey Lynn Riemer reports a TRIPLE and a DOUBLE contest final: PLAYING FOR KEEPS and ARIZONA SKY have finaled in the Contemporary category of Romancing the Tome, and AN ANGEL'S KISS finaled in Historical. PLAYING FOR KEEPS adn ARIZONA SKY also finaled in the Single Title category of the Suzannah.

Susan Lanier-Graham's CHASING MAGGIE placed 2nd in the Romantic Suspense category of the Oak Leaf Award of Excellence.

Lynne Schmidt received her PRO Pin for SHADOW DANCE.

Mona Risk's short contemporary UNDER A CHATEAU finalled in the Romancing the Tome contest.

Leslie Dicken double finalled in the Romancing the Tome contest with two historical manuscripts, A TARNISHED HEART and MARK OF THE MONSTER.

Leanne Karella has sold two short contemporaries to Wings ePress. FOR THE LOVE OF A FAMILY, book 1 of the Double H series, will be released November 2006. SANCTUARY, book 1 of the New Beginnings series, will be released May 2007.

November News

Karen Wiesner's romantic suspense MIRROR MIRROR, book 3 in the Wounded Warrior's series, received a 5 star review from Huntress Reviews. Karen also has a new interview available at Fallen Angels Reviews.

Stacey Lynn Riemer is celebrating a QUADRUPLE final in the CT RWA CONNections Awards contest. ARIZONA SKY finaled in the Single Title category. Her westerns AN ANGEL'S KISS and NIGHTINGALE finaled in the Historical category. And NIGHTINGALE finaled in the overall competition for the CONNection Award for best first meet between the hero and the heroine.

Barb Webb has sold two short stories to Dorchester Media for inclusion in the special Valentines Day Edition of True Romance, scheduled for February 2005.

Terry Spear has sold an article concerning the Civil Air Patrol cadet program to Listen (teen) Magazine for the September 2005 issue.

Suzi Goode is celebrating a QUADRUPLE sale with THE MERMAID'S QUEST to Dreamscapes Books; IMMINENT CONQUEST, a romantic suspense/erotica, to Whiskey Creek Press; CHARONA'S ABDUCTION to Venus Press; and HERE GOES THE BRIDE to Venus Press.

Terry Spear's WINNING THE HIGHLANDER'S HEART, a medieval historical, finaled in the CT RWA CONNections Awards contest.

Catherine Chant's SAINTS AND SINNERS finaled in the Single Title category of the CT RWA CONNections Awards contest.

Susan Lanier-Graham's CHASING MAGGIE finaled in the Romantic Suspense category of the Oak Leaf Award of Excellence and placed second in the Golden Gateway.

Stacey Lynn Riemer's PLAYING FOR KEEPS finaled in the Single Title category of Ticket to Write. Her western historical, AN ANGEL'S KISS, also finaled in the Oak Leaf Award of Excellence. Another of her western historicals, NIGHTINGALE, won 2nd place in the Jasmine.

Terry Spear has sold KILLING THE BLOODLUST to Triskelion Press. The vampire romantic suspense is due to be released March, 2005.

Kim Cox has sold ENCHANTED HOLIDAYS ANTHOLOGY: SIX MAGICAL TALES OF ROMANCE to Hard Shell Word Factory.

Amanada Murphy received her RWA PRO Pin for BOOKS AND DREAMS.

Jodi Lynn Copeland will be signing copies of her Ellora's Cave books UNCHARTED WATERS and SONS OF SOLARIS: ARIES on November 23rd at the Kenwood, MI Barnes & Nobles from 7-9PM with several other Michigan writers.

Jodi Lynn Copeland is happy to announce the sale of her eighth book, SWEET AS SIN, to Liquid Silver Books.

Betty Hanawa's long contemporary BALANCED HEART will be published by Triskelion Publishing in January 2005.

October News

Terry Spear's military romance short story, "Finding Romance on a Night so Foul," was just sold to True Romance, and will be published in their January, 2005 issue.

Betty Hanawa's TURQUOISE DREAMS, a romantica with paranormal aspects, will be one of the launch books for Sister O, a new division of Triskelion Publishing .

Terri Garey's paranormal contemporary UNINVITED has been announced as a finalist in the Spooky category of the SMRW Sweet, Spicy and Spooky contest. Just in time for Halloween!

Dana Taylor has sold THAT DEVIL MOON to Echelon Press. Pre-sales available mid-November, 2004. Dana will offer autographed copies through her website.

Terry McLaughlin is happy to announce that her manuscript, WIDE OPEN SPACES, has won 1st Place awards in the Maggie, Molly, Stepping Stone, and Put Your Heart in a Book contests, with requests from Karen Kosztolnyik (Warner), Lucienne Diver, and Paige Wheeler. WIDE OPEN SPACES also finaled in the MARA's Fiction from the Heartland contest.

Terry Spear's romantic suspense IN THE DEAD OF THE NIGHT has been requested in full by Medallion Press, Inc.

Terry Spear's HEART OF THE WOLF has been requested in full by Kensington after it finaled in the Golden Gateway contest. HEART OF THE WOLF went on to place third in that contest.

Terri Garey's DRUID MOON won first place in the Paranormal category of the 2004 Golden Gateway contest. A paranormal/historical set in early Britain, DRUID MOON is also a finalist in Where the Magic Begins.

Terry Spear is celebrating a first and second sale. THE VAMPIRE...IN MY DREAMS and GHOSTLY LIAISONS sold to Medallion Presss, Inc. Release date: 2005

Barbara Hughes won a ten minute on-line pitch session with Melissa Jeglinski, Senior Editor of Silhouette Desire from a logline contest on the eHarlequin website. Melissa requested the complete manusciript of THE PASSION-MINDED PROFESSOR.

Tawny Weber's RED HOT ANGEL finaled in the Short Contemporary category of the 2004 Where the Magic Begins contest.

Susan Lanier-Graham's CHASING MAGGIE placed second in the Romantic Suspense category of the 2004 Golden Gateway contest.

Catherine Chant's SAINTS AND SINNERS finaled in the Single Title category of the 2004 Opening Gambit contest.

Stacey Lynn Riemer celebrates two wins in the FTHRW Golden Gateway contest. ARIZONA SKY won first place in the Single Title category, and her western historical NIGHTINGALE placed third in the Historical category.

Dawn Oliveri (w/a Shara Lanel) is please to announce the sale of her second book, PRIMITIVE PASSION, to Liquid Silver Books, hot on the heels of the release of her first book, ENLIGHTENED LOVE.

Nancy Finney's manuscript THE LEOPARD PRINCE won the historical category of NJRW's Put Your Heart in a Book contest.

Allie McKnight (w/a Sage Grayson) sold GENIE'S GAMBIT, a paranormal erotic romance, to Loose Id, LLC.

Shelley Munro sold SUMMER IN THE CITY OF SAILS, which placed third in the 2003 Golden Gateway Romantic Suspense category under the title SUMMER IN THE CITY, to Ellora's Cave.

Stacey Lynn Riemer's ARIZONE SKY won 1st place in the Single Title category of First Impressions.

Suzi Goode received her PRO Pin for the romantic suspense IMMINENT CONQUEST.

Catherine Chant received her PRO Pin for a YA time travel romance WISHING YOU WERE HERE.

September News

Leanne Karella sold BROKEN WINGS to Wings ePress. Release date is September 2006.

Peggy Foster (w.a. Elspeth Martindale) received a request for full submission for her manuscript THE ORCA KING from Red Sage Publishing.

Kristi Knight received a request for a full submission of her manuscript HIGH HEELS & DAGGERS from Silhouette Books.

AmyLynn Macuda is celebrating her first sale. RECKLESS BOUNTY sold to Triskelion Publishing.

Barb Webb sold her first short story to True Confessions Magazine for the December 2004 issue. Title is still TBD.

Terri Garey's historical/paranormal entitled DRUID MOON has made the paranormal finals in our own Golden Gateway contest, while RUNES OF FIRE has been named as a historical finalist in the Put Your Heart In A Book (PYHIAB) contest. Both manuscripts are currently under consideration by Anna Genoese at Tor/Forge.

Lindsey Brookes has several contest wins to report. OPERATION: DATE ESCAPE won the romantic comedy category of the Ignite the Flame contest, sponsored by the Central Ohio Fction Writers. FOREVER HER COWBOY won the series contemporary category of the Fire & Ice contest, sponsored by Chicago-North RWA chapter. And ANGEL IN TRAINING won the contemporary category of the Great Beginnings contest, sponsored by the Utah RWA Chapter.

Barb Webb received notification that her RWA Pro Special Recognition application has been approved.

Mary Gardner won 1st place in NovelTalk's Author Contest. The prize is a free website design and one year hosting at NovelTalk.

Michelle Klosterman received a request for a full submission of her manuscript OBSESSION from Associate Editor Susan Litman at Silhouette Special Edition.

Cynthia Clement is celebrating her first sale. THE SEDUCTION OF SARAH, a historical romance set in the late Regency, sold to Kensington and is scheduled for release in June 2005.

Anna Sugden's THE WIFE WAGER has been requested by Susan Litman at Silhouette (Special Edition) based on the submitted partial and synopsis.

Catherine Chant has sold a non-fiction article to MetroKids, a Philadelphia-based parenting publicaction. BUYING A DIGITAL CAMCORDER will appear in the November 2004 issue.

Susan Lanier-Graham's CHASING MAGGIE has finaled in the our own Golden Gateway contest and has been requested by Selena James at Pocket and two agents.

August News

Shelly Munro has sold NEVER SEND A DOG TO DO A WOMAN'S JOB to Ellora's Cave. This is book two in the TALKING DOGS series.

Shelly Munro's AISLYN (New Concepts Publishing) has been selected for Knowbetter.com's newest Reading List "Beach Read."

Barb Webb, writing as B.A. Webb, and co-author Maureen Breslin sold MOM(dot)COM: A MOM'S GUIDE TO SAVING AND EARNING THOUSANDS ON THE INTERNET to McGraw Hill in a deal agented by Caren Johnson of the Peter Rubie Literary Agency. This is Barb's first sale.

June News

Jodi Lynn Copeland's historical novella, GOLD, FRANKINCENSE & MYRRH: A GIFT OF MYRRH, released from Ellora's Cave in November of 2003, took second place in the Scarlett Letter contest, which recognizes excellence in sensuous romance.

Kimberly Duffy, w/a Lindsey Brookes', UNDERCOVER DADDY won the long contemporary category of the Duel on the Delta.

Amy Trotter has won the Harlequin Book In A Year Contest. Her essay is now online at eharlequin.com. Trotter willreceive a free manuscript critique from the eHarlequin.com Critique Service as a prize. She is submitting her manuscript THE COYEE CHRISTMAS COUPLE review.

Tamara Denby, w/a Tawny Taylor, has sold her Futuristic Erotic Romance ASTEROID 6969: SIREN'S DANCE to Ellora's Cave with a March 2005 scheduled release date.

Leanne Karella-Salter received her Pro Pin for ALASKAN HIDEAWAY, which has been requested in full from Harlequin Silhouette.

Shirley Hailstock's first Silhouette novel, A FATHER'S FORTUNE, has been named as one of the finalists in the First Coast Romance Writers Beacon Contest. Winners will be announced May 1 at the Southern Lights Conference in Jacksonville, Florida.

Ann Jones-Rodriguez's THE STAR TALISMAN won second place in the futuristic category of the FF&P On The Far Side Contest, and also placed second in the paranormal category of Indiana RWA's Golden Opportunity Contest, which resulted in a full request. Her DANGER FOR HIRE took fourth place in the erotica category in the FF&P On The Far Side Contest.

Kimberly Duffy, w/a Lindsey Brookes, has placed first in the long contemporary category in the River City Romance Writers Duel on the Delta contest for UNDERCOVER DADDY. Also, her KIDNAPPED COWBOY took third in the same category.

Ruth D. Kerce's WILD TEMPTATION has received an honorable mention in the 2nd Annual JADA Romance Novel of the Year Awards.

Kathleen Long proudly announces the sale of her romantic suspense, RIPTIDE, to Harlequin Intrigue. Release date TBA. This is her second sale and first sale to Harlequin. She has also won both the series contemporary and single title contemporary categories of the Happy Endings Contest with CHERRY ON TOP and BUNNY LOVE, respectively. Additionally, BUNNY LOVE tied for the Hero Most Charming award. "Whew. What a month!"

Monica M. Jeffers, w/a McKenna Jeffries, has received her Pro Pin for CONQUERING JAZZ.

Shelley Munro has sold LANE'S LOVE CHILD and FOLLOW THAT DREAM to Wings ePress; LUCIEN'S REVENGE to Medallion Press; and TALKING DOGS, ALIENS AND PURPLE PEOPLE EATERS to Ellora's Cave.

Betty Glasgow Hanawa finaled with RIGHT BRIDE, WRONG GROOM in the erotica category of the 2004 Winter Rose Contest, sponsored by Yellow Rose Chapter of RWA. She also has had two full manuscripts requested by Triskelion Publishing. Both have been e-mailed.

Jean Adams' BEATS A WILD HEART won the 2003 Treble Heart Books Award for Best Contemporary.

Jodi Lynn Copeland has sold ONE WILD WEEKEND to Ellora's Cave with a July 2004 release date.

Tawny Weber's short contemporary, HER CUP OF TEA, finaled in OVRWA'S Enchanted Words Contest.

February News

Kathleen Long has sold GET BUNNY LOVE to Kensington Publishing as part of a two-book contract. The romantic comedy is scheduled for release in January 2005 from Zebra Books.

Terri Garey's paranormal/historical, RUNES OF FIRE, is a finalist in both the NTRWA Great Expectations Contest and the SARA Merritt Contest. This manuscript has already been requested in full by Dorchester and Mills & Boon.

Terry McLaughlin's single title manuscript, WIDE OPEN SPACES, has won first place in West Houston's Emily Contest.

Susan Lanier-Graham, w/a Elizabeth Ray, received her RWA Pro Pin for her historical LONG JOURNEY HOME.

Leslie Dicken's historical, A TARNISHED HEART, finalled in the NTRWA Great Expectations Contest. Final judging will be done by Ann Leslie Tuttle of Harlequin Historicals/HQN.

January News

Tammy Johnson is thrilled to announce her first request for a full. Her manuscript, MARRIAGE ON HIS MIND, was requested by Beverley Sotolov, editor for Harlequin American Romance.

Barbara Raffin's THE INDENTURED HEART has been named Best Colonial Historical by Affaire de Coeur's on-line poll, and her TIME OUT OF MIND made the top three in the Supernatural category.

Tamara Denby, w/a Tawny Taylor, will have TEMPTING FATE released in January 2004 by Ellora's Cave.

Jodi Lynn Copeland announces the sale of her paranormal romantica novel, SONS OF SOLARIS BOOK 1: ARIES to Ellora's Cave, the first in a twelve-book series.
