August - December News

Sandy James' novel TURNING THIRTY-TWELVE (BookStrand) is the winner for Best Contemporary Romance of 2009 in the Aspen Gold Readers Choice Contest.

Dawn Wolzein(w/a Dawn Marie Hamilton)'s SEA PANTHER placed 2nd in the FF&P category of the 2009 Hot Prospects Contest sponsored by Valley of the Sun Romance Writers.

Gabrielle Luthy's LEARNING NOW TO STAY is a finalist in the SpaceCoast's Launching A Star contest. Her manuscript THE LAKE EFFECT is a finalist in the Golden Rose and Launching A Star.

Judi Phillips (w/a Pepper Goodrich) has sold MERRIE'S CHRISTMAS, a hot Christmas adventure in Jamaica, to Whispers Publishing. It will be released December 17.

Sandy James's novels MURPHY'S LAW and FREE FALLING are both EPIC finalists.

Gwen Hernandez's COUNTING ON YOU placed FIRST in the Contemporary category of the 2009 Heart-to-Heart contest sponsored by the San Francisco Area Romance Writers, and Gwen received her Pro Pin on November 13, 2009.

Dawn Wolzein (w/a Dawn Marie Hamilton)'s synopsis for SEA PANTHER received FIRST place in the paranormal romance category of the 2009 MERWA Synopsis Writing Contest.

Ami Weaver's manuscript aimed at Superromance, AN ACCIDENTAL FAMILY, finaled in the 2009 GRW Unpublished Maggie Awards in Contemporary Series.

Linda Warren's TEXAS HEIR (Harlequin American) won Bookbuyer's Best Award in short contemporary, and it was chosen "Top Pick" by Sue Grimshaw of Borders Inc.

May - July News

Shoshana Brown's STAGE FRIGHT won the YA category of the 2009 Golden Heart.

Gabrielle Luthy 's LEARNING HOW TO STAY won the mainstream category of the Chicago North RWA contest and is in the finals of the Orange Rose.

Eve Savage (w/a Kat Alexis) has sold the BERRY BLISS, the story of two strong-willed people who meet their match in a little berry with big repercussions, to Ellora's Cave.

Brenda Nelson-Davis' fantasy with romantic elements, WINDBORNE, received Third Place in the 2009 Sandy Contest.

K.M. Daughters has sold CAPTURING KARMA, Book 3 in the Sullivan Boys Romantic Suspense Series, to The Wild Rose Press.

Cai Smith & Stephanie Lynch (w/a Marilu Mann) have sold another book to Ellora's Cave. SWEET BUNS will be part of a multi-author anthology to benefit the Punches Family.

Terri DuLong has been offered another contract with Kensington to write in the next Christmas anthology headlined by Fern Michaels. (Zebra mass-market paperback, Nov 2010) They want a contemporary story with Christmas as the theme, and it will tie in with the first two novels Terri did for them with the Cedar Key setting.

April News

Linda Warren's TEXAS HEIR is a RITA® finalist and also received First Place in The Lories Best Published contest (Category Romance category). Her novel ALWAYS A MOTHER won the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence in contemporary romance.

Christyne Butler has sold THE SHERIFF'S SECRET WIFE to Silhouette Special Edition for a 2010 release.

Kelli Finger (w/a Abbey MacInnis) has sold DELIGHTING MISS DAISY to The Wild Rose Press. It will be part of THE WAYBACK HOME, an anthology of three Wayback Texas stories.

Marie Force's LINE OF SCRIMMAGE (Sourcebooks Casablanca) placed third in the Lories Best Published contest (Single Title category).

Cynthia Arends (w/a Arianna Skye)'s UNLEASHING YOUR INNER SEX DEMON received Second Place in the MORWA Gateway to the Best contest, and Third Place in the Hot Prospects contest, and was requested by Grand Central Publishing from a pitch at a conference. Her manuscript A MOST UNLIKELY MATCH received Third Place in the Hot Prospects Contest and First Place in the Finally a Bride contest where it received a request for a partial from Megan McKeever at Pocket Books.

Jane Leopold Quinn has sold MERCENARY DESIRES to Siren Publishing.

Kelli Finger (w/a Eve Knight) has sold UNMASKING CINNAMON, the first book in the Sinful Seven series, which showcases seven sinful and successful men and the women who fall for them, to Cobblestone Press. It will be released May 29.

March News

Kim Grooms (w/a Kim Law) is a finalist in the Golden Heart® Contemporary Series category with SECOND CHANCE FOR A FAMILY.

Terry Spear's Paranormal novel HEART OF THE WOLF (Sourcebooks) was included in Publishers Weekly BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR, 2008.

Barbara Hughes (w/a Natasha Moore), has sold CHAINS OF DESIRE, a futuristic BDSM book, to Ellora's Cave, and the short story THE BETTER TO EAT YOU WITH, a twisted take on Little Red Riding Hood, to Red Sage for their e-book line.

Sandy James' novel TURNING THIRTY-TWELVE (BookStrand) is a finalist in the Colorado Romance Writers Award of Excellence Contest for 2008 romance novels.

Jane Leopold Quinn became a member of PAN with her novel ANCIENT TIES (Loose ID) on January 25, 2009.

February News

Kate MacEachern received her Pro Pin for THE RELUCTANT VAMPIRE.

Helen Scott Taylor has sold the second book in her Magic Knot fantasy romance series to Dorchester. THE PHOENIX CHARM will be a December 2009 release. THE MAGIC KNOT, first book in the series, received a starred review in Library Journal.

Connie Rachal is celebrating a First Sale! She sold BRIDE OF PASSION to WingsePress, and the cover won Book Cover of the Year at The Authors Lounge.

Jodi Lynn Copeland has been asked to write a serial online story in the SPICE-vein for eHarlequin.com. The story will be posted in eight installments from May through June on the eHarlequin web site.

Sandy James' paranormal THE RELUCTANT AMAZON received Second Place in the Mary Reade Readers' Choice Awards.

Terri DuLong is celebrating a FIRST SALE. Terri sold SPINNING FORWARD, women's fiction set in Cedar Key, Florida, to Kensington Publishing for an autumn 2009 release.

Tawny Weber has sold 5 more titles to Harlequin Blaze, including 2 Anthologies and 3 full length stories.

January News

Tricia Jones has sold NO STRINGS NEIGHBOR to The Wild Rose Press.

Pamela Kopfler's BETTER DEAD is a finalist in the Emily Awards, sponsored by the West Houston RWA Chapter, and she received her Pro Pin for the manuscript QUEEN'S JUSTICE.

Jillian Hallowell has sold a novella to Carnal Passions.

Jane Leopold Quinn has sold A PROMISE AT DAWN to Siren Publishing.
