Marie has always been an avid reader, since reading her first “adult” book, To Kill a Mockingbird, when she was in the fourth grade. Hooked on reading from then on, she has had a secret desire to write a novel since high school. But college and then the world of business, as well as her husband and two sons, derailed any thoughts of publication until she was asked to co-write several books in her field, Information Technology.

Published in non-fiction, her desire to write that fiction novel led her to begin her first romance in 2002, and to join RWA in 2004. She found FTHRW almost immediately and joined for the opportunity to learn and share with others who had the same interests. She was the coordinator of the 2005 Wallflower contest and Workshop Co-chair in 2006. For the past year she has been Vice-President of FTHRW.
