Here is chapter 22.
In the last chapter, Galen had secreted Ammi’s father’s sketchbook out of the prison hospital. He and Ammi were trying to piece together what happened the night her mother disappeared when he got a call from the manager of a pro baseball team (call set up by Dr. Puissard). Unsettled by the realization that Galen could leave Blue Lake, Ammi pushes him away. Then she passes her foster care home inspection. Mrs. Puissard promises to place Boy Martin with her—if Ammi gives up her regular visits to her father in prison. Ammi asks Galen’s sister to watch the baby during her visits, and Iris agrees.
TIA for any comments and suggestions!
