Thanks for weighing in on this Ana. I think where I went wrong was calling the venue a “civic arena”. That sounds big and big venues have certain procedures it sounds like.
When I originally drafted the book, I had the bridal expo happen at a hotel. I modeled the hotel after one I’ve actually been too and see set up for a bridal show (I used to work there). It was in a large ballroom.
I think I’ll go back to the hotel setting. I’m still mulling if Leslie will wait in the loading lane or just sit in the parking lot.
You picked up on something I was going for, but didn’t say explicitly (Brock mentions that if she’d gotten there earlier she might’ve been able to get a different spot). She arrives later than the others, so pulling up front doesn’t put her in a line of people. Unlike her, the other vendors have their act together and arrived plenty early.
