Thanks, Alicia. I’m a bit slow responding – it’s been a crazy week… These are great tips and you’ve listed a couple of new ones I want to try.
Speaking of plotting and emotions, I read Story Genius a few months back, so for the 2 1st drafts I had written (before reading the book) and need to edit, I went through each scene and made sure that each had at least 1 cause and effect and how this tied to my POV characters’ emotions. Doing this after I had my drafts already written, I found that I was able to make the stories go deeper and become richer. I bet it would’ve been much easier plotting these stories with all these things in mind before writing the first draft 🙂
