Hi Zara, We went through Basel a few days ago. Not somewhere I would feel the need the return except to cross. The tiny French villages south of Strasbourg were stunning. Toured the estate of winemaker, Albert Seltz, in Mittelbergheim. He inherited his family’s vineyards at nineteen, the 14th generation to do so. To own a commercial winery in this region, the lands must stay in the family through birthright or marriage. The Vins d’ Alsace are on the sweeter side and went down smooth, so I finished every glass at the tasting. This morning I have a tannin headache.
