I’m a visual learner.
I see intermittent glints of light reflecting of the polished rock mobile, slowly swaying in the gentle breeze created by the ceiling fan. The dishwasher is churning, the downstairs dehumidifier is humming, the television in the bedroom is set to nightly news–I can’t distinguish what is being said. It’s almost dark outside. Night comes early in northern Minnesota this time of year. The brilliant colors on the sugar maple tree outside have faded for the night; I see more bare branch than crimson leaves when I look out. Our cat is lying near me as I perch on the old, comfy couch where I do most of my writing. Her back is to me, but her ears are perked up. I know she hears the taps of my fingertips on my laptop.
