Jeanne, I know how those editing costs can add up. I use a developmental editor for every book. I won’t work without one. A good dev editor sees things no one else does and helps you make the story better in your own voice. When you find one you resonate with, hold onto them. 🙂
Kathy, congrats! Glad to hear you had a great Nano month! I hope you’re able to find a nice place in January. So sorry about your car accident. I’m glad you’re okay. ❤️
Nice word count, Dory! I love how you’re always learning something new. It keeps life interesting, doesn’t it? Ooo, Christmas shopping! Can you believe it’s nearly Christmas? Where did the year go? 😲
My word count last week was 14, 141, which puts me just under the 80K mark. I thought this book was going to be 90K words, and it may yet be, but not on the first draft. I think it’s going to land around 85K. AND, I’m going to make my deadline! Yay! After that, I’m going to take a couple of days off to square away Christmas, and then I start drafting book two in the series.
I’ve got a FB author party this week with some authors I admire, so that should be fun. Also, I’m in the process of hiring a PA to help me with social media and promotional work. We’re going to do a trial run in January to make sure we’re right for each other. I’ve just decided that I cannot do it all. Fingers crossed, this works out well because I definitely need help.
After this Sunday, we won’t be doing any sprints until 2022. We’re going to do the annual chain event in January if you’re interested. Starts on New Year’s Day!
Have a great week, everyone!
