I’m still busy editing – now it’s my historical romance. I’ve got a wonderful beta reader and am going over each chapter with her comments and edits. It’s slow going because she’s pointed out many things that I have missed so I’m doing a lot of revising and adding content. This is going to make the story much better.
I’m also working on writing a new historical novel and a flash fiction romance that I intend to submit to Woman’s World Magazine. Chances are the short romance won’t get selected for publication because they get so many submissions each month, but it’s worth a try.
In working with my beta reader, I now realize I’m not writing romance. I have multiple characters who are important to the story and their stories and their POVs are a vital part of the manuscript. So, what I write doesn’t fit within the boundaries of a romance in which the story belongs to one heroine and one hero. So, manuscripts fall within romantic women’s fiction or romantic historical fiction or romantic contemporary fiction.
This week I made it a point to update my website several times. I had stopped updating because the website really isn’t generating any sales for me. But what the heck- I’ll post to it anyway. I think when the COVID restrictions let up I’ll have to look into book signings and also giving talks at my local public library.
That’s it as far as this past week. My goal for this coming week is to keep working on my projects and to work on them for at least 2 hours a day.
