Good Morning, all.
Your short story sounds like it’s going to be interesting, Kathy. I always enjoy doing historical research. Good luck with the story.
Cheryl, I’m going to have to try writing down my goals even though I’ve stuck to my plan of editing (which feels like it’s taking forever, but I want to to the best job I can). So far the only thing I write down is at the end of each editing session. I write down on a piece of scratch paper the title of the story I’m working on, the page number that I have to continue on with when I edit again. I also write down the first few words of the sentence I need to start with. This is so I know where I left off at the end of the previous edit session.
I kept up with my weekly goal of working on my writing at least 2 hours a day and have been averaging three hours a day.
Sometimes, I get discouraged because I have so much to work on. I really let things go too long before I started revising and editing and I just kept writing more and more new stories. So, now I have 3 novel-length women’s fiction (2 contemporaries and one historical) plus the 3 historical novellas and three historical short stories. I estimate it could take me two years before I get all this shaped up and ready to publish.
I think I’d better not plan on writing anything new for a while unless its maybe a flash fiction short romance (800 words or less) to submit to Woman’s World.
Have a great week!
