Hi, Cheryl and everyone,
This week I can see I’m making progress. Suddenly, the bulk of my editing is done. I think we had a workshop on The Chunky Method, and I had been doing something like that before we had the workshop. I write, edit, revise, spell check, everything in “chunks.” My chunks are rarely longer than 40 minutes and are usually from 20 to 30 minutes. When I get tired of doing one writing-related task, then I move to one of my other writing -related tasks – or do something totally unrelated to writing for a while. And it works, a little bit at a time.
One of the non-writing tasks I’m doing is taking an online workshop in beginning American Sign Language. It’s interesting, but I can see it would be time consuming to learn to do it well and I’m not interested in pursuing it after this workshop is over. The next workshop I’m going to take is beginning conversational French. I took French in high school a very long time ago. Maybe I’ll remember some of it when taking this workshop! Maybe the next workshop I”ll take will be beginning conversational Japanese. I took some Japanese classes back in the 1980s . Maybe I’ll remember some of that language, too. These online workshops are offered through my public library at no charge to library card holders.
Libraries are wonderful places and have moved right along into the digital age with the rest of the world – besides still having physical books we can check out.
Well, that’s it for me for this week. Take care.
