This past week I finished my short story for the Hearts Through History anthology. Then I also participated in the AutoCrit Destination Unknown Challenge which is basically an exercise to get you writing. They gave us the first line, we have to use it, then they added a twist, and then they gave us the final line. We have to use all of it in the challenge.
Here is the challenge:
First Line required to be used in the story: The attack was over in seconds.
Twist: The story must not contain physical violence. (It can have already happened or be a future threat. It cannot be on the page.)
Final Line: Far too many people put their faith in me.
The challenge ends on Tuesday but they’re doing a big writing sprint and stuff on Monday and so far I have 1830 words. It’s been fun working with it and I think I am going to incorporate it into my Camp NaNo novel for July.
